![]() In the deleted " bonus scene" to "Will You Take My Hand?", Philippa Georgiou suggests Trill were not members of the United Federation of Planets, only identifying Leland as "Federation." after he reveals he is not, in fact, a Trill. ( DS9: " Trials and Tribble-ations", DIS: " Will You Take My Hand?") ( DS9: " Destiny") By the 2240s, they could be encountered on Earth, and by 2257, it wasn't unusual to see a Trill on Qo'noS. ( DIS: " Forget Me Not") Trill could be found visiting Vulcan early-23rd century. The Trill were a spacefaring race by the early 23rd century, considered a generally peaceful people by the Federation. ![]() ![]() No symbiont joining with a non-Trill species was known to have been successful before the 32nd century. Joinings with symbionts were only considered possible with members of the Trill species. For more information, consult the Goldstone Radar Activities site and the DSN Science Infrastructure site.Trill records regarding joining dated back to the 12th century. The Goldstone Solar System Radar conducts a variety of planetary science investigations and it is a critical element of NASA’s planetary defense activities. The DSN also enables powerful science investigations that probe the nature of asteroids and the interiors of planets and moons.įor example, the Deep Space Network operates the Goldstone Solar System Radar, the world’s only planetary radar system. It is a powerful system for commanding, tracking and monitoring the health and safety of spacecraft at many distant planetary locales. The DSN is much more than a collection of big antennas. All three complexes consist of at least four antenna stations, each equipped with large parabolic dish antennas and ultra-sensitive receiving systems capable of detecting incredibly faint radio signals from distant spacecraft. Before a distant spacecraft sinks below the horizon at one DSN site, another site can pick up the signal and carry on communicating. The strategic placement of these sites permits constant communication with spacecraft as our planet rotates.
